Aoife Carragher has been part of the AA Roadwatch team since March 2008. Most mornings you will hear Aoife on 2fm’s Breakfast with Hector, but she also broadcasts on other 2fm shows and occasionally on RTÉ Lyric Fm and on RTÉ Radio One. In May 2011, and after three years with AA Roadwatch, Aoife took on the new role of Roadwatch Team Leader.
Before joining Roadwatch Aoife worked as a researcher and reporter on LMFM Radio’s flagship current affairs programme The Micheal Reade Show. Aoife completed a degree in Media Studies and German in NUI Maynooth, and as part of her course she spent a year in Bremen where she improved her time keeping skills and topped up the German vocab! In 2010 Aoife undertook an MA in Public Affairs and Political Communications with DIT Angier St. As part of her MA and as well as juggling the traffic, Aoife worked with two Senators in Leinster House and took part in the General Election 2011 campaign.
Although Aoife is a native of Castleblayney in Co. Monaghan, she didn’t fancy the early morning commute and so has been living in Dublin since she started with AA Roadwatch.
In her spare time Aoife enjoys travelling and has managed to explore most of Europe, parts of the US and South America. Aoife took up running as a New Year’s resolution in 2010 and has become slightly addicted! She has taken part in a number of 10k runs and the Dublin Half Marathon so far. The full marathon is next!
