National Summary Report
It’s a wet start in some places this morning; many parts of Leinster are affected as well as the North West with excess surface water through Co Mayo and in Co. Letrim on the N16 Sligo/Blacklion Rd through Manorhamilton. Caution is also advised on the back roads around Strandhill, Ballymote, Achonry and Tubbercurry in Co. Sligo.
* Extra care is needed on wet roads; leave a safe distance between you and the car in front of you.
*MAIN TRAFFIC*
*TIPPERARY* The Thurles/Dundrum Rd (R661) is closed until further notice at Clonoulty following a serious collision. Gardai are at the scene and local diversions are in place.
*N67/CLARE* The bridge on the N67 Lahinch Rd in Ennistymon will close from 9:30am to 1:30pm approx for works. Diversions will be in place.
*N52/WESTMEATH* The speed limit on the N52 Tyrrellspass/Mullingar Rd is reduced today to facilitate works between Carrick and Clonfad. Drive with care.
*CITY TRAFFIC*
*GALWAY* Extremely heavy on Bothar na dTreabh from the Font R/A to the Ballybrit jct, causing severe delays for motorists travelling towards Riverside. Slow inbound on the Dublin Rd from Oranmore through to GMIT. Still busy on Bishop O’Donnell Rd approaching the Deane R/A and again at the Gleann Dara jct.
*CORK* No unusual delays reported in Cork City. At present standard delays on the northside of the city approaching the Dunkettle Interchange on the N8 Dublin Rd. On the southside it's from Grange and Frankfield towards the Kinsale Rd R/A and westbound on the N25 South Ring Rd between the Bandon Rd and Sarsfield Rd R/A. Also, on Rochestown Rd into Douglas.
*WATERFORD* Busy but moving inbound on the Cork Rd and Dunmore Rd also on Sally Park and the Ferrybank DCW.
*LIMERICK* Nothing unusual in Limerick; slow inbound on the Corbally Rd and the Dock Rd. Busy both ways on O’Connell Ave.
*TRAVEL*
*IRISH RAIL* The Irish Rail fare revision will see a new fare structure with three basic ticket types for all Intercity routes. For full details 'click here'
*ROADWORKS*
*LONGFORD* The N63 Longford/Roscommon Rd is closed at the jct of the Stonepark/Ballymacormick Rd (R397) and at the Ballymahon Rd (R392) jct in Lanesborough. Works will operate there 24/7 until Fri 30th March.
* Works are in place on the N4 Sligo/Dublin Rd between Longford and Newtownforbes until Wed 29th Feb. Single lane traffic is in place.
*KILKENNY* Works operate on the N10 Kilkenny/Knocktopher Rd between Danesfort and Springhill until Fri 17th Feb. Expect delays.
*WEXFORD* Overnight works on the Quay in New Ross take place from 8pm until 6am each night, Mon to Fri until Fri 24th Feb.
*GALWAY* Works will take place on the N18 Galway/Gort Rd at Kiltartan from 8am to 5pm each day until Mon 27th Feb. Expect delays.
*SLIGO* Lane closures are in place on the N59 Sligo/Ballina Rd at the jct with the Inishcrone Rd (R297) until Tues 13th March. Expect delays as a result.
